Footnote 13 Page 22:—

The speaker referred to was Dr Herbert Lockyer, for many years a leading dispensationalist. Prior to the meetings in question, the writer addressed Dr. Lockyer with the request that, in view of the controversial nature of subjects he had announced, he would set aside a time for questions. This was refused. Approaches after the meetings, and subsequently by letter, were all rejected; no answers to questions would be given. This is a regrettable attitude, yet characteristic of many of this school. Audiences ( and readers ) are expected to accept their "interpretations" unquestioningly, and frank discussion is studiously avoided.
